Coach's Tips

At first, start by putting the band on your foot. And then move it step by step to your knees to increase the difficulty. Be careful not to do it too fast!

How to Band Assisted Pull Up

Starting Position

1. Stand directly underneath a pull-up bar and place one foot on the band.

2. Grab the bar with an overhand grip, slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.

3. Bend your knees and keep your feet together, so the band is taught.

Proper Form

1. Pull your body up until your chin is above the bar.

2. Lower yourself back down to the starting position.

Breathing Technique

1. Inhale as you pull yourself up.

2. Exhale as you lower yourself back down.

Precautions

1. Avoid swinging your body to gain momentum.

2. Make sure the band is secure before attempting a pull-up.

3. Do not lock your elbows at the top of the pull-up.

4. Keep your core engaged throughout the movement.
