It's a good workout to build up your lower back muscles. Push your shoulders back, not your arms, and pull them with your back!

How to Underhand Cable Lat Pulldown

Starting Position

1. Sit on the lat pulldown machine with your feet flat on the floor.

2. Reach up and grab the bar with an overhand grip, hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.

3. Bring the bar down to chest level, keeping your elbows close to your ribcage.

Proper Form

1. Exhale as you pull the bar down towards your chest, elbows pointing down and back.

2. Keep your chest open and your shoulders down and back.

3. Hold for a moment at the bottom of the movement.

4. Inhale as you slowly return the bar to the starting position.

Breathing Technique

1. Exhale as you pull the bar down.

2. Inhale as you slowly return the bar to the starting position.

Precautions

1. Make sure to keep your elbows close to your ribcage throughout the entire movement.

2. Keep your chest open and your shoulders down and back.

3. Do not jerk or yank the bar as you pull it down.

4. Make sure to keep your feet flat on the floor.
