How to Dumbbell Zottman Curl

Starting Position

1. Do not swing your body while performing the exercise.

2. Do not use momentum to lift the dumbbells.

3. Avoid locking your elbows at the top of the movement.

4. Do not arch your back while performing the exercise.

Proper Form

1. Curl the dumbbells up towards your shoulders as you exhale.

2. At the top of the movement, squeeze your biceps for a second before slowly lowering the weights back to the starting position.

3. Make sure to keep your elbows close to your body throughout the entire exercise.

Breathing Technique

1. When curling the dumbbells, exhale.

2. When lowering the dumbbells, inhale.

Precautions

1. Stand up straight and hold a pair of dumbbells in each hand, with your palms facing each other.

2. Position your arms at a 45-degree angle with your body, so that your upper arms are parallel to the floor and your forearms are perpendicular to the floor.

3. Keep your elbows still and close to your body throughout the entire exercise.
