How to

Starting Position

1. Lie on a decline bench with your feet secured in the footpads. 2. Hold a weight plate in both hands and extend your arms up towards the ceiling. 3. Engage your core before starting the exercise.

Proper Form

1. Exhale as you slowly lower the weight plate towards your chest. 2. Keep your arms extended throughout the exercise. 3. Lower the weight as far as you can without arching your back. 4. Inhale as you slowly return to the starting position.

Breathing Technique

1. Exhale as you lower the weight plate and inhale as you raise it back up. 2. Make sure to breathe steadily throughout the exercise.

Precautions

1. Do not hold your breath during the exercise. 2. Do not arch your back while performing the exercise. 3. Make sure to keep your arms extended throughout the exercise. 4. Do not use too heavy a weight plate as this could cause injury.
