How to Arnold Press
Starting Position
1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a pair of dumbbells in front of your shoulders, palms facing each other.
2. Keep your core engaged and your back straight.
3. Elbows should be slightly bent and pointed forward.
Proper Form
1. With control, press the dumbbells directly overhead until your arms are straight.
2. Rotate your arms so your palms face away from you at the top of the movement.
3. Lower the dumbbells back to the starting position with control.
Breathing Technique
1. Inhale as you lower the dumbbells and exhale as you press them up.
Precautions
1. Do not lock your elbows at the top of the movement.
2. Do not allow your lower back to arch.
3. Do not press the dumbbells too far forward.
