Coach's Tips

It's a workout to make well-toned calves!

How to

Starting Position

1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your toes facing forward. 2. Place your hands on your hips or on a wall for balance.

Proper Form

1. Slowly rise up onto the balls of your feet as high as you can, engaging your calf muscles. 2. Hold for a moment before slowly lowering your heels back down to the starting position.

Breathing Technique

1. As you lift your heels, inhale deeply. 2. As you lower your heels, exhale.

Precautions

1. Do not swing your body or use momentum to lift your heels. 2. Do not lock your knees at the top of the movement. 3. Do not go beyond a comfortable range of motion.
