Keep your arms low while executing a rowing movement. This exercise strongly targets your back muscles!
How to Low Row Machine
Starting Position
1. Adjust the weight for the low row machine. Make sure it is light enough to allow you to complete the exercise with proper form.
2. Sit down on the low row machine and place your feet on the foot platform.
3. Hold the handles with an overhand grip. Your arms should be straight, but not locked.
Proper Form
1. Initiate the movement by pulling your shoulder blades together and pulling the handles towards your torso.
2. Keep your torso stationary and your arms close to your body.
3. Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the end of the movement.
4. Slowly return to the starting position.
Breathing Technique
1. Exhale as you pull the handles towards your torso.
2. Inhale as you return to the starting position.
Precautions
1. Keep your back straight throughout the exercise to avoid injury.
2. Do not arch your back or swing the weight.
3. Do not jerk the weight or use momentum to lift the weight.
