After doing this, my back, which didn't hurt before, starts to hurt. Should I keep my back straight while doing it? I'm short and have short legs, so when I press down, my back tends to lower more. ㅜㅜ

Adjust the backrest angle to be horizontal with the footrest angle, and you can attach only your hips and the gluteal muscles to the pad. You do not need to attach your entire back.
