Something must be wrong with my form. The lower back pain is excruciating by the 2nd set! I'm keeping it close to my shin, but it isn't helping. 😫

lower the weight. Don't round the back. Maybe try some exercises to strengthen your back?

If it's the correct posture, then you might want to lower the weight, and since it seems like your back is rounding, you can use your knees like in a squat.
