How to Underhand Barbell Row
Starting Position
1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hold a barbell with an overhand grip.
2. Bend your knees slightly and tilt forward from your hips, keeping a flat back.
3. Allow the barbell to hang in front of your legs.
Proper Form
1. Keeping your core engaged, pull the barbell up towards your lower chest, leading with your elbows.
2. Squeeze your shoulder blades together as you pull the barbell up.
3. Pause briefly at the top of the movement and then slowly lower the barbell back down to the starting position.
Breathing Technique
1. Inhale as you lower the barbell and exhale as you pull the barbell up towards your chest.
Precautions
1. Make sure to maintain a flat back throughout the entire movement.
2. Keep your elbows close to your body as you pull the barbell up.
3. Don't jerk or swing the barbell.
