How to

Starting Position

1. Avoid arching your back during the exercise. 2. Do not lower the weights too far behind your head as this can put strain on your shoulder joints. 3. Keep your elbows close to your ears throughout the exercise.

Proper Form

1. Slowly lower the dumbbells in an arc behind your head towards your shoulders. 2. Keep your elbows close to your ears throughout the exercise. 3. Once you have reached the bottom of the movement, pause for a second and then slowly return the dumbbells to the starting position.

Breathing Technique

1. Exhale as you lower the weights. 2. Inhale as you return to the starting position.

Precautions

1. Lie flat on your back on an exercise mat. 2. Place one dumbbell in each hand and hold the weights above your chest. 3. Keep your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor.
