How to

Starting Position

1. Keep your spine straight and relaxed throughout the exercise. 2. Do not push yourself too far. You should feel a gentle stretch, not pain. 3. Be sure to stretch both sides evenly.

Proper Form

1. Reach your right arm up toward the ceiling and then lean your torso to the left. 2. As you lean, reach your left arm down toward the floor and feel a stretch in your right side. 3. Hold this position for 30 seconds and focus on your breathing. 4. Return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.

Breathing Technique

1. As you reach up to the ceiling, take a deep breath in. 2. As you lean your torso to the left, exhale. 3. Continue to focus on your breathing as you hold the stretch.

Precautions

1. Stand with your feet slightly wider than hip-width apart. 2. Raise your arms up over your head, reaching up toward the ceiling. 3. Relax your shoulders and keep your spine straight.
