It is recommended for those who are not familiar with moving barbell. Put your elbows on your sides while working out!

How to

Starting Position

1. Stand facing the Smith Machine with your feet shoulder-width apart. 2. Reach down and grab the barbell with an underhand grip and your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. 3. Your arms should be straight and your torso should be bent forward at a 45-degree angle.

Proper Form

1. Keeping your core tight and your back flat, begin to row the barbell up towards your sternum. 2. Once the barbell is close to your sternum, pause and squeeze your shoulder blades together. 3. Slowly return the barbell to the starting position and repeat.

Breathing Technique

1. Inhale as you lower the barbell towards the starting position. 2. Exhale as you row the barbell towards your sternum.

Precautions

1. Keep your back flat throughout the entire movement. 2. Do not allow your lower back to round as you bring the barbell towards your sternum. 3. Do not use momentum to lift the weight. 4. Do not lock your elbows at the top of the movement.
