If you feel it in your back lower your weight and focus on using the legs/glutes to lift you back up. Also ensuring you have a good core. I had awful sciatica last year and have learned a lot during recovery.

Try pulling your elbows in to your sides when doing the reps. Makes you feel it in the lats way more
