Even though the size of the two is getting bigger, why doesn't the weight seem to increase much?

Sitting down and stabilizing your core makes the stimulation even better.
In the military, I really did well, but now that my weight has increased, I think push-ups are the hardest exercise. Since my weight has gone up, doing push-ups seems to give me a stronger stimulus than using the chest machine or bench press.
