Is this supposed to hurt the shoulder? I do feel some stimulation in the chest, but my shoulder hurts a bit.
Why do you keep making me do different types of push-ups? Is it really okay to make a newbie do 200 push-ups a day just with different names?

It seems that the coordination muscles are involved because you are lifting a weight higher than your own body weight. The latter is correct, as the primary muscles are being targeted.
